Support for Naomi House, Arizona, North America
As part of our overseas mission, we support Naomi House (the naomihouse.org) which is dedicated
to provide a safe and loving home for Native American children in need. It is both an emergency
shelter and foster care home. It’s founder Linda Thompson comments; “Native American children
suffer from abuse at one of the most alarming rates in our country. Child Sexual abuse in Native
America is both epidemic and holocaustic. 90% of the children that come to live at Naomi House are
the victims of child molestation. My heart’s desire, and the reason NAOMI exists, is to share the
healing love of Jesus Christ, with hurting children that desperately need His healing touch. NAOMI
was established as a non-profit home for abused and neglected Native American children.”
The main thrust of ministry is the Children’s Home which is operated in Joseph City, Arizona.
Locations:
ARIZONA
NAOMI House is located in Northern Arizona. This is the home started by Linda Thompson in 1995.
When Linda opened NAOMI House, it consisted of the single family dwelling (still used for housing
the children) and a barn. Later, the adjacent property to the west was bought and the Ministry
Centre was constructed on it. Bunk houses were added, a large playground and a house for staff at
the northeast corner of the property.
SOUTH DAKOTA
There is a need for safe houses like NAOMI on different Reservations across America. The leaders at
Naomi House, following God’s leading are looking to reproduce into different locations, as well as
expand in Arizona. They are at the beginning stages of establishing such a centre in South Dakota.
